If you've sent in a system or a part for repair or replacement, this article explains the different types of RMA that CLX uses and what to expect at each stage. There isn't a self-service status page for RMAs. For status updates or questions, contact CLX Support directly.
Types of RMA
Standard RMA
You send your full system in for repair. You'll get an automated email once our RMA department receives your system, not when it first arrives at our warehouse. There can be a short gap between those two, so don't worry if the email takes a bit to show up.
A Standard RMA typically takes about 2 to 4 weeks from the time you ship it, including transit. The exact time depends on the issue your system is having. You'll get an email when we start diagnosing it, and another when the repair is complete.
Cross-ship RMA
You send back the defective item and we send you a replacement. This usually applies to a specific faulty part, but it can also apply to a full system if your system arrived dead on arrival (DOA) or if CLX has approved a full-system replacement for your case. If your system is DOA, note that a full refund may also be available instead of a replacement. See CLX Return Policy for details, or contact CLX Support to discuss your options. Diagnosing what you send in and shipping your replacement can take up to 7 days.
Advance RMA
This works the same way as a Cross-ship RMA, but we send your replacement first. You pay a refundable collateral charge to receive it. Once we get your original defective item back, whether that's a part or, in a DOA or approved full-system replacement case, the entire system, we refund that collateral. If your system is DOA, a full refund may be available instead of an advance replacement. See CLX Return Policy for that option.
Parts RMA
We send you a replacement part, and you don't need to send anything back.
If you're not sure which type of RMA applies to your situation, contact CLX Support and we'll help you figure out the right path.
Shipping Labels
CLX provides a prepaid shipping label for any RMA within the first 90 days of receiving your system. After 90 days, a shipping label is still possible, but it requires approval and is reviewed case by case. If you're outside the 90 day window, contact CLX Support to see what's available for your situation.
Checking Your RMA Status
RMA and repair updates come through email and through CLX Support directly. There is no separate online lookup page for RMA or repair status.
To check on your RMA, contact CLX Support with your RMA number and the email address used on the order. If your inquiry is about a Standard RMA repair, having your system's serial number ready also helps us pull up your record faster.
