With new computers, it can be quite confusing to know where to get drivers. We install all the basic ones you’ll need, but if you ever want to update drivers, we will try our best to make it as easy as possible for you.
There are a couple of different types of drivers that you need, but they depend on what kind of components you have. The main drivers are going to be your GPU and your motherboard drivers.
If at any point you would like assistance with downloading drivers, please contact our support team, and we will be more than happy to help with providing you with all necessary drivers.
For Graphics cards, it depends on what kind of graphics card you have, as it can vary between Nvidia and AMD cards. The easiest way to tell if you don’t know which card you have, is to look through the side of your case. If you have a graphics card, it will be the large card that sticks out from the middle of the system, and it will in big text say either “Nvidia (G or R)TX” for Nvidia, or “Radeon” for AMD graphics cards.
For Nvidia cards, if you don’t know what model of card you have, you can download GeForce Experience, and it will allow you to automatically update your drivers from there. If you know what model you do have, you can enter the model in the manual search section below the download link for GeForce experience.
For AMD cards, if you don’t know what model of card you have, you can download AMD Adrenalin, and it will allow you to automatically update your drivers from there. If you know what model you do have, you can enter the model in the manual search section below the Auto-detect downloader.
For any GPU, it is recommended to do a custom installation, where you then do a “Clean” installation. This basically means that the driver will reset itself, and reduce the likelihood of driver issues coming up, when you download a new driver.
The other main drivers that you would need to install are your motherboard chipset drivers. This varies depending on if you have an Intel processor, or an AMD processor.
If you don’t know what motherboard you have, then it is quite easy to figure it out. All you need to do is either download a program called “speccy”, or you can find it by pressing the Windows Key, and typing “system information”. Open the program, and on the main panel, there will be a field that says, “Baseboard Product”, this is your motherboard.
Note, if you want to download speccy, do NOT purchase it, use the free version, as you can get all basic information from the free version.
To find the drivers, all you will need to do is search the full motherboard name in google. Click on the main link to the page, and the drivers will either be listed under “Support” or “Downloads”.
When you are there, you are going to want to download the chipset drivers, and the INF drivers, if there are any there. You will need to extract those files to download them and once you run them fully, you should not need to update them again.
