Add Bluetooth to Your PC

Introduction

Bluetooth lets your PC connect wirelessly to accessories such as headphones, speakers, keyboards, mice, and controllers. If your system does not have built-in Bluetooth, you can still add it with the right hardware.

Check whether your PC already has Bluetooth

Before adding new hardware, confirm whether Bluetooth is already available on your system. Many desktops include Bluetooth only when a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card or a compatible motherboard module is installed.

• Open Windows Settings and look for Bluetooth and devices.
• Check Device Manager for a Bluetooth category or adapter.
• Review your PC specifications or build sheet for Bluetooth support.

If your PC does not have built-in Bluetooth

If Bluetooth is not already included, the most common solution is to install a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth expansion card. This card can be fitted into the system to provide wireless connectivity.

Option 1: Install a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth expansion card

1. Power down the PC and disconnect it from power.
2. Open the case and locate an available compatible expansion slot.
3. Install the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card according to the manufacturer instructions.
4. Connect any required antennas or internal headers.
5. Reassemble the system and boot into Windows.
6. Install the latest drivers if prompted, then turn Bluetooth on in Windows settings.

Option 2: Have CLX purchase and install the card for you

After installation

Once the card is installed, Bluetooth should appear in Windows and be ready to use after drivers are installed. If needed, pair your accessory from Windows Settings under Bluetooth and devices.
